These terms

These terms apply to every commission and every piece from the house collection. Placing an order or paying a deposit means you accept them. Nothing here takes away a right that UAE consumer law gives you.

Who may order

Orders are placed by adults aged 18 or over. When a drawing is by a child, the order is placed by a parent or guardian, who speaks for the child throughout.

Quotes

Every commission begins with a written quote: the design, metal, stones, price and an estimated timing. A quote holds for the days stated on it. Gold, silver and stone prices move, so after that date we may need to quote again.

Prices

Prices are in UAE dirhams and include delivery within the UAE unless the quote says otherwise. Every payment receives an invoice in Arabic and English. We never charge extra for paying by card.

Deposit

Accepting a quote asks for a deposit, usually 50% of the price and set on each quote. It commits studio time and buys metal and stones made to your design. If you cancel after paying it, the deposit is not refunded, because that work and material cannot be used for anyone else.

When the deposit is returned

• If Desenõ cancels the commission for any reason other than your breach of these terms.
• If we cannot make the piece, or miss the agreed timing by more than 30 days and you choose to cancel.
• If the finished piece is defective or differs from the approved design and we cannot put it right.
• In any other case where UAE law requires a refund.

Approval and balance

Before delivery we send photographs and video of the finished piece. Once you approve them, the balance is due. If the piece differs from the approved design, tell us before you approve and we will adjust it. We hold a finished piece for 60 days after the reveal. If the balance is still unpaid after we have written to you twice, we may close the commission and keep the deposit to cover the work done.

Cancelling

You may cancel a commission at any time by writing to us. If you cancel before paying the deposit, nothing is owed. After that, the deposit section applies. Desenõ may decline or cancel a commission, for example if a design cannot be made well or identity checks are not completed, and will then refund everything you have paid.

Handmade by nature

Each piece is made by hand from your drawing and the approved design. Small differences in line, finish, colour and weight are part of the craft and are not defects. Natural stones vary in colour, clarity and inclusions, so no two are alike. Designs, sketches and concept images show intent, not an exact likeness.

Metal

Gold is 18 karat, 750 parts in a thousand, and silver is sterling, 925 parts in a thousand, unless the quote states otherwise. Pieces carry the fineness marks UAE law requires, and the weight of metal is stated on the invoice.

Sizing

Rings and bracelets are made to the size you give us. If the size we made differs from the size you gave, we correct it at no cost. Later resizing is often possible and is quoted on request. Some designs cannot be resized without changing the drawing, and we will say so.

The house collection

Pieces from the collection are made in limited runs. An unworn piece in its original packaging may be returned within 14 days of delivery for a refund, unless it was engraved, resized or altered for you. Commissions are made for one family, so they cannot be returned or exchanged except as these terms or UAE law allow.

Delivery

We deliver within the UAE by insured courier, and a signature is required on receipt. Timings are estimates. If anything moves, we tell you early. Risk in the piece passes to you when it is delivered to you or to the person you name. Ownership passes to you once the balance is paid in full.

On arrival

Please open the parcel soon after delivery. If the packaging is damaged or the piece is missing or harmed, tell us within 48 hours, with photographs where you can. If the piece differs from the approved design, tell us within 7 days of delivery. We will repair, remake or refund, as UAE law provides.

Warranty

Every piece is guaranteed against defects in making for 12 months from delivery. Within that time we repair or remake a faulty piece at no cost, or refund it if neither is possible. Your rights under UAE consumer law apply in addition to this guarantee.

Care

The guarantee does not cover ordinary wear, knocks, scratches, loss of stones caused by impact, contact with chemicals, chlorine or perfume, or repair and alteration by anyone other than Desenõ. Fine jewellery for children should be worn with an adult nearby, and small pieces kept away from young children.

Identity checks

UAE anti-money laundering law requires us to verify identity, and sometimes the source of funds, for purchases of AED 55,000 or more paid in cash or by international transfer, and to keep those records for at least five years. We may pause an order until checks are complete, and may decline payments we cannot verify.

The drawing

The drawing stays yours, and the child who made it remains its author. By sharing it you confirm that you are the child's parent or guardian, or have their consent, and that you have the right to share it.

What you allow us

You give Desenõ a licence to copy, adapt and work from the drawing to design and make your piece, and to keep a record of it for repair, remaking and our legal records. We show the drawing, the child's name or the piece in public, on the site or on social media, only with your written permission, which you may withdraw at any time for the future.

The design

The design developed from your drawing, with its sketches and files, belongs to Desenõ. We make it only for your family and never sell it to anyone else.

Who we are

Deseno FZC LLC, trading as Desenõ, decides how your information is used and is responsible for it under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law. You can reach us at info@deseno.ae.

What we keep

• Your name, email address, phone number and delivery address.
• The drawings you share, and the first name and age of the artist if you tell us.
• Your quotes, payments, invoices and messages with the studio.
• Identity documents, only when anti-money laundering law requires them.

Why, and on what basis

• To quote, make and deliver your piece, because you have asked us to.
• To keep records and complete identity checks, because the law requires it.
• To show a drawing or piece in public, or send news from the house, only with your consent.

Children

We do not collect information directly from children. A parent or guardian shares the drawing and any details about the child, and gives consent on the child's behalf. We ask for no more than we need to make the piece.

Who helps us

We share information only with services that help us do the work: website and database hosting, card payments, email, and AI tools that help our studio draft replies. Our workshop partner receives the drawing and design details needed to make the piece, and our courier receives your delivery details. Every message and quote is read and approved by a person at Desenõ before it reaches you. We never sell your information.

Outside the UAE

Some of these services store or process information on servers outside the UAE. We use them only with contractual safeguards that protect your information as UAE law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep drawings and design records so we can repair or remake your piece, and delete them sooner if you ask. Payment, invoice and identity records are kept for as long as UAE tax and anti-money laundering laws require, which is at least five years.

Keeping it safe

Access is limited to the people who need it, and information is protected in transit and at rest. If a breach ever puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, move or delete your information, to limit or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to info@deseno.ae and we will reply within 30 days. Some records must be kept by law even after a request to delete.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, write to us first. You may also complain to the UAE Data Office.

Our responsibility

To the extent UAE law allows, our total liability for a commission or purchase is limited to the price you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect loss. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, injury, or any right that the law does not allow to be limited.

Events beyond our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, public emergencies, government action, supply failures or courier disruption. If such an event lasts more than 60 days, either of us may cancel, and we refund any payment for work not yet done.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in force when you accept a quote apply to that commission.

Questions and complaints

Write to info@deseno.ae and we will reply within five working days. If we cannot resolve a complaint, you may contact the consumer protection service of the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes go to the courts of Sharjah, unless UAE law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
